Elder Carson Bowen Kiribati Islands in Marshall Majuro Mission

Another great week!  Four baptisms occurred last week with two of them being a crazy experience. My favorite recent investigator, the one I was tell you about Baua (the dude) is way good at reading.. so Baua and Kaitira are are their names. i think i told him about u a few weeks ago when he was asking a bunch of really good questions and I was able to answer them perfectly with the Spirit.  They came to our house and told us that Baua was leaving  on Monday for a year to go work as a seaman. They asked if they could do their baptism before he goes  but they weren't married. So how it works to get them married we have to request their names and then 3 weeks later their government packet comes and then we do the marriage with the Bishop. Soooo they didn't have that kind of time with him leaving, so to get the papers immediately you can pay 75 dollars.  They didn't have that so then I said somehow the money would be provided. Hey Hey Mauri!         Whats up! Today is p day!  We woke up early and went down to Betio and got my turtle shell,             which looks so freakin cool! Now we are at this Internet Cafe.  We will go back to our house               later (next to stake center) and play sports. AHHHH wow that's exactly what I needed! a big update and pick up!! I felt like I was talking the whole time in the skype call and never really heard from ya'll so email update was great!  It seems like everything is going great at home!! The Spirit here is doing all the work, I'm just opening my mouth.  When I first got back from Nikunau we had a lesson here and at this time I was new to being senior companion. We were lessoning with a family and one guy was very very smart. He reads better in English, which is insane for a Kiribati person.  He had a bunch of really good hard questions that I answered so perfectly. It didn't even seem like they were my own thoughts. It was like I was just being handed what to say, which was perfect. I was able to say it in perfect Kiribati thanks to the Spirit. Cool stuff.  Mother's Day SKYPE was the BEST!!!!  Here's some notes: 5-5-18 Saturday 9 pm California Time / Elder Bowen Sunday 4 pm Tarawa Time Elder Bowen is currently on an atoll, Tarawa in the Kiribati Islands.  The language has become easier and different on each island.  The language on the island of Nikunau talk in a singing sway voice which Carson demonstrated.  He sure can talk the language and so fun to hear him rattle it off!!!!  Everyone uses "Boss" in their talking as, Are you way Boss, or that is so Boss. He lives in a Hut built of coconut leaves and other leaves for the roof.  He sleeps on a thin mat made of leaves intertwined together and says he is use to it now and it is comfortable.  He uses a book sometimes as a pillow. Coconut trees are everywhere and that is how the people make their money through these trees.
