WEEK 70 Fish training - time flying by-working so hard!

Image
hey hey!  HAPPY B DAY Mom!! Yea we ride bikes all over. Working so hard here and time is flying by so fast!  I love this place! Kinda sad but that  investigator from Fresno is not wanting to hear from us anymore because he's  lazy but we are hopeful.   We will see, we have gone to his house like 5 times and  every time he says he is sick and can't lesson.  We will be ready when he is! Things are  going so well.  Today is Pday and I organized a fishing trip with my district.  I showed them how to really fish and we caught eel and some smaller fish.  We had such a fun time and they were all pretty happy to learn the REAL ways of fishing like an island man.  Fun unity times! Hope Your b day is awesome!! Love yalls -elder bowen

WEEK 69 Moved-no Thanksgiving here - Great companion Elder Austin

hey hey!  Not sure how long I am going to be on here (this island), Today we just moved out of this house  into another. The one we moved into doesn't have water yet. But it's  bigger and is a beautiful beach house! My companion, my kid, is Elder Austin from Arizona. He is way cool and  we have been getting along great. He is really fun, and likes working  hard like me. Thanksgiving!!! whaaaat! that sounds way fun! We do not celebrate that holiday here. Nothing  too much has happened here other than giving a blessing then crazy  things happened.  We also moved into new house with no water, trained to be  District  Leader (waist of time because I knew how to do everything from doing it on the smaller islands), and had a crazy good  dinner with these super rich members! Sooooo good!  We still eat lots of fish. (These are words from Elder Austin letter) We did have a feast and they made cinnamon roll muffins and PIZZA!!!  The mom works at Moroni and the Dad is a seaman

Mauri! Wow that was a crazy week! So I flew here(Tarawa) on Tuesday and met my "kid." He is cool and we have been getting along great. He is American and from Arizona. I'm helping to train him and he knows a little bit of the language already, but not much. It's been fun teaching him and having fun with him. I definitely miss Abemama a lot right now. I miss those wonderful people and my area. RIP the work out there. President sent all "islanders" out there so they better not sleep all day. The house I'm staying in now is at Moroni High School and is literally a beach house. It is ridiculously nice! It has air conditioning, hot showers, and a freezer! soooo nice. I freeze every night because I'm not use to being that cold at night but it's so nice. Oh yea it also has a washing machine!!!! It's soooo nice and clean!!! No more doing wash with my hands in buckets scrubbing my clothes for hours! woooh. The only unfortunate thing abou

November  5, 2018 Last week the internet was not working.  This Week has been pretty crazy. The aps called me and my companion and said we were both flying out the next day.  Fortunately we had no transportation to get to the air strip with our bags so we got to stay a week longer and will leave tomorrow(Tue). We got permission to ride motor cycles all the way up north to pick the new elders up. One from vanawatu (idk how to spell it) and one from Tonga. They are cool.  We have been having many cultural parties with the members because we are leaving and new elders came. I gotta say leaving these members was very difficult. I love these people so much and have grown very close to many families. I love the cultural parties and dancing in front of everyone. I also learned a Kiribati dance. I have to come back here someday for sure and go diving and fishing and hang with some of these families. Then yesterday we had combined church(we hired a truck and ALL
