Mauri! Kam Uara? I hope everything is going well back at home. I'm doing good here! The language is still rough but I'm working on it. Teaching lessons in Kiribati is actually pretty fun. Despite the fact that it's a lot of memorization, using the words that I know to make sentences is actually pretty fun. Then our investigator(our teachers acting) would say something back to us like really fast. I would just say eng(yes) bc I sometimes have no clue what they're saying. It sounds so funny tho. You have to use the back of ur throat for some words.. it is super funny. I think we might get our flight plans today or tomorrow. I heard it's like 48 hrs of flying, but idk about that. I'm really looking forward to the flight bc I'm going to read the back of my eyelids the whole time.. Robert what you said about being tired all the time is true. It may be because we all stay up and talk with the lights off until late, but idk. It's fine bc I=I'm a savage a

WEEK 4 Excited to go, hard language with funny words, tug-a-war

Mauri!! Ko Uara? This week went by super fast just like the past weeks. I can't believe that I've been here over 3 weeks already! Sometimes the days can feel long, especially when I have language class at least 6 hrs a day, but the weeks go by super fast! I can not freakin wait to get out of here and get to Kiribati tho.. Our 3 teachers that we have are super cool and are all return missionaries from Kiribati Islands. They showed us some more pics and its sooo beautiful. It literally looks like Paradise!  We are literally going to be living in bamboo huts and houses. They've been telling us about the mission and stuff and it's like all about survival, like bear grills status. They say if you don't have a machete your kinda screwed, unless you just make one there which I am going do which will be legit. The language is coming along, but is still very rough. It can be super tiring some times. We have been giving teacher lessons to our teachers in Kiribati which is

Kam mauri ngkami(Hello everyone)! Another week just flew by! The days can sometimes be slow and long trying to learn the language like 6 hrs a day but then looking back it feels like I've been here like a couple days. Like the weeks literally just fly by, it's nuts. Anyways, the language is still crazy hard to learn, but I'm working on it. We have had to teach a few lessons in Kiribati "Kidibas" already which have been rough. My companion is a cool white guy that also speaks fluent Chinese, so he is pretty good at learning languages. He's much better at the language then me which is nice because he can help me. We had our first TRC's last night which is basically just meeting or like a FHE with a member and giving them a lesson. They are super cool except for the fact that they are in Kiribati and I have no clue what my companion and the member are saying like the whole time. Then when it's my turn to teach I just read from the book and then bare my

WEEK 2 August 4, 2017 Yo Yo Yo! Whats up! The first week is over! The first couple of days were rough, but the third day was much better. The guys in my district are all soo cool and we share a lot of the same hobbies/interests. I can literally quote any movie and they will get it, it's hilarious. So right when I got here it was exciting but super sad. I felt like I just got put into prison..then as I was walking up the stairs of the residency with my host(the missionary that greets you and shows you whats up) Tanner and his comp Elder Blotter come running towards me, I know your not suppose to hug women but I hugged Tanner for a very long time. haha. It was super good to see him. We saw each other at like every meal after that until Tanner left the MTC to get out in the real world. Oh yea and I've seen Branson pass a few times which is always cool! Fortunately as a few days go by you start to get into a routine which is nice but not at the same time. My companion looks like
